Crescent Change | Designing a Scalable Ecosystem
Crescent Change is a multi-platform digital giving ecosystem designed to simplify donations, improve transparency for organizations, and increase long-term donor engagement.
The platform consists of four interconnected products:
User App (donors)
Organization App
Organization Web Dashboard
Super Admin Dashboard
The goal was to design a cohesive, scalable system that balances emotional giving with operational clarity.
The Challenge
Despite good intent, many donation platforms fail due to:
Low donor retention and one-time giving behavior
Poor visibility for organizations into donor activity
Fragmented admin tools that don’t scale across user types
Overly transactional UIs that remove the emotional aspect of giving
The challenge was to design trust, motivation, and clarity across very different user needs — without breaking consistency.
The Solution
We approached Crescent Change as an ecosystem, not a single app.
Key Design Decisions
Introduced round-up donations to reduce friction and increase donation frequency
Added gamified elements (badges, rewards, progress tracking) to improve engagement
Built role-specific dashboards to surface only the most relevant data per user type
Designed a central Super Admin system to maintain platform integrity and scale
All products were unified under a single design system using:
Familjen Grotesk (headings) + Inter Display (UI & body)
8px grid system
Perfect Fourth typography scale
Pastel color language for warmth without sacrificing professionalism
